Story
Having been based in Sydney for over two months now I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get involved in the ‘Bridge to 2030: Climb for Breast Cancer Research’ in support the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This will involve scaling the infamous Sydney Harbour Bridge in an attempt to help this vital foundation raise $1million to assist them with their research goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
I am sure we all know of a loved one, friend or associate that has been touched by this terrible disease and research is the only way to prevent deaths from breast cancer – but for researchers, it can be difficult to secure funding. The chance of a medical researcher receiving government funding is only 14%, and there are an increased number of applications every year. National Breast Cancer Foundation is helping to close this gap – and keep researchers in the lab, where they belong, searching for breakthroughs that can save lives.
I would be really grateful if could support my efforts by making an online donation that will make a real difference to the one in eight women that will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and will help to bridge the gap between funding and research.
Thank you!
Carlene
